"This dual keyboard arrangement is based on the familiar hymn tune LANCASHIRE by Henry Thomas Smart and is associated with two sets of lyrics. For the Easter season, St. John of Damascus penned the lyrics titled ""The Day of Resurrection. "" Alternate lyrics by Ernest W. Shurtleff are equally well known and titled ""Lead On, O King Eternal. "" This arrangement begins in the key of C with flowing 16th notes on Keyboard I while Keyboard II brings out the melody. The song progresses through the melody one time then builds as it transitions to the key of G. For the second time through the piece, Keyboard I carries the melody with energy and boldness while Keyboard II fills in a mellow harmony. The piece concludes by returning to the beginning theme with flowing 16th notes.
