I started writing this in the first day of spring 2008. Structurally, it’s based roughly on the Rondo from Beethoven’s "Spring" sonata opus 24, from which I also stole most of the notes! It doesn’t sound much like Beethoven though.
It uses quarter tones and sul-ponticello playing extensively which gives it a dark, unformed sound near the start and a quarter-tone glissando rolling effect that I had to invent my own notation for.
Because of all the string effects used, I recommend you ignore the MIDI and listen to the MP3 if you want a reasonable idea of how it sounds !
