The Philharmonic Society of Saint Matthew Lorenzo
Mavilis, was founded in 1965 and provides free music
education and meet the cultural needs of the region.
The first unofficial appearance was on the streets of
the community without outfit in 1966 and the following
year became an official appearance with 35 musicians.
In 1999 changed the name of the Band as a tribute to
the Corfiot poet Lorenzo Mavilis. This is a parade
march. The composer is Ninos S Gerasimos.
