Mutazione IV is the fourth piece of music composed on my old Mutazione Theme, from my first solo album back in 1992, Babylons Acumen. It is the most complicated version of it, and the funniest, due to its double-core instrumentation. The small chamber orchestra consists of strings, flutes and one oboe, and goes along a regular jazz piano trio. The chamber instruments never act as a backing section for the trio, which integrates the orchestra in all the piece’s section, except for the improvisation, where the three musicians play alone without accompaniement. I personally like this piece for its originality
